The SlalomX range is the first sail line designed specifically for the PWA’s new SlalomX discipline. Ultra-stable, powerful and highly reactive, it delivers explosive acceleration, perfect control in extreme wind, and easy tuning for riders of every weight category.
The CHS Challenger SlalomX is a breakthrough in modern slalom design — the first sail range developed specifically for the PWA’s new SlalomX format, launched in Pozo in 2024. The discipline quickly became a fan favourite, adding high-wind intensity, tighter courses and the unique challenge of the sausage jump, creating a completely new type of slalom racing.
To match this demanding format, CHS became the first sailmaker to engineer a dedicated SlalomX-specific sail line, tuned for explosive control, rapid response and maximum stability in chaotic, gusty and high-wind racing.
PWA rules require riders to cover a wind range from 18 to 40+ knots with only three sails.
This is extremely demanding — especially considering the major body-weight differences between competitors.
To solve this, CHS developed a smart and flexible size progression:
7.5 m² → ideal for heavier riders (85 kg+)
6.5 m² → core SlalomX size
5.5 m² → high-wind control
5.0 m² → extreme wind / Pozo-style conditions
For lighter riders, the range comfortably starts at 6.5 m², while heavier competitors can begin with 7.5 m².
To extend versatility even further, CHS added an 8.4 m² for lighter-wind fans, broadening the range while keeping full compatibility with the Aero Slalom line for perfect custom quiver combinations.
