At the end of April 2026, something happened that every windsurfer who has spent years on the water will understand deeply. A Brazilian rider from Ilhabela, São Paulo, stood on top of the world podium at one of the most demanding race venues in Europe. His name is Klayton Silva, and he is now the IFCA Master Fin World Champion 2026.

Leucate, April 2026: 162 athletes, 10 world titles

The event was the IFCA Grand Slam Fin & Foil Slalom World Championships, held from 22 to 26 April in Leucate, France, as part of the legendary Mondial du Vent — one of the most important boardsports festivals in Europe, with 29 years of history. One hundred and sixty-two athletes from 20 nations came to fight for 10 world titles across Fin and Foil, in both senior and age-category divisions.

Leucate is not a gentle venue. The Tramontana can either blow everything away or disappear entirely, and this year it arrived late, keeping fin fleets on standby for most of the event. When conditions finally came good on the final day, the racing was compact, intense, and unforgiving. That is exactly the kind of racing that separates those who know their equipment from those who simply hope.

A title built race by race

Klayton dominated the Master 40 category throughout. His path to this title didn’t start in Leucate — it started years ago in the waters of Ilhabela, built race by race, tuned session by session. In 2025 he had already taken the Brazilian national title and a stage win in Portugal. This year, the world title followed.

He sails with CHS

That matters to us — not as a commercial claim, but as a technical reality. Klayton’s racing puts our fin slalom sails under real competitive pressure: light wind patience, heavy wind power, the full spectrum of conditions you get from a Tramontana venue. Every piece of feedback from him informs how we design and tune our race range here in Senigallia.

The world title is his achievement. The sail that helped get him there is ours, and we’re proud of both.
